Two women on the hunt to find every soldier settler name in El Arish

Two Australian women, Marie Carman and Lorelei King, are researching and preserving the stories of their ancestors, who were soldier settlers in El Arish, North Queensland, after World War I. They aim to identify and document the names and stories of all 140 soldiers who settled in the area, including those who were allocated land and those who worked as "bachelors" on the farms. Their project is a personal mission to honor their grandfathers' memories and preserve the history of the Australian Soldier Settlement Scheme.
