US President Donald Trump has confirmed work will continue on a "massive military complex" at the White House after a federal judge ordered him to suspend construction on a new ballroom, which required demolishing the East Wing.District Judge Richard Leon granted a preservationist group's request for a temporary pause on the construction of the ballroom on Tuesday. It will remain in place as the court case plays out unless the Trump administration gets Congressional approval to continue the project.Judge Leon noted the ruling would allow work security measures around the White House grounds to continue. The 8,360-square-metre ballroom was planned to replace the East Wing, which Trump ordered demolished in October.Underneath that building was the Presidential Emergency Operations Center, an emergency bunker for the president.Bringing handwritten notes that referenced part of the ruling into the Oval Office, Mr Trump told reporters, "It talks about we're allowed to continue building". He then offered an exhaustive list of works being done to enhance security while the ballroom is built."The roof is drone-proof; we have secure air-handling systems — you know, bad things happen in the air if you have bad people," he said."We have bio-defence all over But the military is building a massive complex under the ballroom," Mr Trump said."That's under construction and we're doing very well
