Grapevine Berry Inner Necrosis Virus (GINV) has been detected in Australia for the first time in Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia's Riverland. The virus can restrict growth, change leaf color, and reduce grape quality. Although it's believed to have been present in the country for years, authorities only recently confirmed its presence. Vineyard owners are being advised to maintain biosecurity practices to prevent its spread, but eradication is not possible due to a lack of a known cure.
