New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has announced he has the full support of his party and will remain the National Party leader after surviving another confidence vote.The announcement came after an "urgent" National Party caucus meeting was held on Wednesday morning in Wellington.The meeting was called after a series of missteps from the Prime Minister.Last week Mr Luxon, in a live radio interview, said he was open to a referendum on the country's electoral system without first discussing the idea with party colleagues.He also had to apologise after telling a Rotorua Business Chamber breakfast audience that businesses needed to "be adult" rather than look to the government for help.During a press conference in the nation's capital, Mr Luxon said there was a confidence vote in his leadership held Wednesday morning."I have the full support of our caucus and our caucus is united, and it is determined to win this election," he said."Our focus is on Nationals positive plan to fix the basics and build the future, so that we realise the incredible potential that sits in this country and that we set up for our kids and grandkids so they can do better than we can."The press conference lasted less than a minute, and Mr Luxon did not take any questions, finishing the speech by saying: "we're going back to work, and we're moving on."Earlier this year Mr Luxon survived another confidence vote, which he called after earlier media speculation that he could be ousted.New Zealanders will head to the polls later this year on November 7.
