Northern Territory police have charged a 27-year-old man after allegedly making more than 12,000 calls across Australia targeting women and "making sexual threats". In a statement, NT police said the alleged behaviour began on June 19 this year, but it was not until a month later that it was reported to them."The matter was reported to the [NT Police Force] on 29 July after the number was identified as being located in Alice Springs, with Southern Investigations taking carriage of the matter," the statement read. Police said they were able to identify the Alice Springs man behind the phone number yesterday and arrested him, as well as seizing his mobile. The man has since been charged with five counts of the Commonwealth charge of using a carriage service to harass, menace, or cause offence. He has been placed on remand and will appear in Alice Springs Local Court today. NT Police have urged any other victims of the 27-year-old's alleged offending to come forward.
