Radio personality James Valentine, 64, has died after a four-decade media career. He was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in 2024 and chose to use voluntary assisted dying. Valentine was best known for presenting the Afternoons show on ABC Radio Sydney for over 20 years and was celebrated for his warmth, wit, and humanity on-air. He is survived by his wife and two children.
