Negotiations over a United States-backed plan for ending the war in Gaza are continuing despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejecting a 15-point roadmap to peace.Netanyahu said Israel would not accept the proposal, which links Hamas' disarmament to an eventual Israeli military withdrawal, in its current form."Israel does not accept the 15-point document," Netanyahu said during a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday."The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed," he added, referring to the Israel Defense Forces.Netanyahu said this applied to all weapons, not just heavy weapons Israel rejects this and insists that the weapons be removed from Palestinian territory.Hamas made the surrender of heavy weapons conditional on several requirements, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a Palestinian state.Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace's high representative for Gaza, said in an interview with Israel's Channel 12 television that the organisation's plan is the "only way forward"."The option we are offering today is the only way forward that ensures this tragedy does not happen again," he said
