Five teens arrested over spate of Brisbane, Gold Coast home invasions

Police have arrested five teenagers following a series of break-and-enter offences across South Brisbane and the Gold Coast in which multiple people were assaulted.Five people aged 17, 18, 19 and two 16-year-olds were arrested on Wednesday.It is alleged the group was operating out of a stolen 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was stolen from an address at Kingscliff on Sunday night.Police said an unknown group broke into a home on Skyview Avenue at Rochedale just after 5am on Monday and threatened a female resident with a knife.The woman received an injury to her finger when one of the group allegedly knocked her phone from her hand.Later that morning, police allege, four unknown people broke into a Red Cedar Crescent home at Calamvale, where a Mercedes-Benz was stolen.Police said a female resident was injured while attempting to stop the vehicle being taken.Police said that just before 3am on March 31 a group of people forced entry into a Redbud Lane home at Robina and attempted to steal a Mercedes-Benz GLC300, but crashed the vehicle.The home owner was allegedly assaulted and received minor injuries.Police said investigations were ongoing.
