Ricky Morris, a descendant of the Lovett family, will lead the Anzac Day march in Melbourne as an RSL ambassador, despite his grandfather and four great-uncles being denied soldier settlement blocks after serving in World War I and World War II. Morris is one of 25 family members to have worn the uniform, and his involvement comes as the RSL seeks to acknowledge and recognize Indigenous servicemen and women. Morris is working to "undo 200-plus years of trauma" and is advocating for redress to First Peoples who were denied soldier settlement blocks.
